Guide Review - Arizona Getaways for the Incurably Romantic
Would you give a travel guide as an anniversary gift or as a Valentine's Day gift? Ordinarily, I'd say not, but Arizona Getaways for the Incurably Romantic might be the exception to that rule. This paperback presents more than an outline of the amenities at 45 Arizona hotels, bed and breakfast inns, and resorts. Ms. Swartz offers us more of a guide to kindling the romance in our relationships, and finding the Arizona environment that is best suited to our own definitions of intimacy, luxury and seclusion.
In addition to resort descriptions, and what makes them worthy of a romantic getaway, the author of Arizona Getaways for the Incurably Romantic gives us tips on starting the romance long before the vacation begins, in the planning process. Packing tips for lovers, and a quiz for helping us determine what our and our partner's romantic hot buttons are get us started. There are gift presentation ideas, romantic movie and book listings, and more.
Of course the bulk of this book is spent on familiarizing the reader with romantic locations in Arizona. Arizona Getaways for the Incurably Romantic includes descriptions of romantic resorts and hotels in Flagstaff, Greer, Jerome, Prescott, Sedona, Phoenix/Scottsdale, and southern Arizona. Phoenix/Scottsdale and Sedona seem to get much of the attention. The tips get pretty specific, including which rooms get the best views, where the most secluded spots are, and what activities are available both on property and off.
